Doomscrolling (compulsively consuming short-form content) is a highly normalized disorder that can cause attention deficiency, headaches, brain fuzziness, and other side effects that hinder your memory, ability to remain present, and focus on self care and growth. The addictive nature of scrolling can quickly develop into a dangerous dependence on content consumption to escape the challenges of life under a system of domination. Although the Internet can be an incredible tool for seeking community, sourcing information, an oasis of comedic relief, and relatedly a remedy for chronic mental distress, it does not act as a total replacement for healing our connection to others and ourselves.

 

In order to resist the temptations of instant gratification and dependence on a predatory design of media, I have created this web page as a holistic reminder to visit when I feel my cravings arise and a space to vent my frustrations.
